The SIT sought clarity on whether KTR had prior knowledge of phone tapping involving then TPCC chief Revanth Reddy.
Investigators also questioned him on the alleged role of police officials in party donations and electoral bond related matters, sources added.
Earlier, the SIT had questioned former minister T Harish Rao in connection with the phone tapping case.
With KTR now questioned, political tension intensified among BRS leaders and cadre.
The phone tapping case was registered in March 2024 following allegations that phones were illegally tapped using the State Intelligence Bureau during the previous BRS government.
A nine member SIT led by Hyderabad Police Commissioner C V Anand is probing the case. Several senior officials have already been arrested, while the investigation involving political leaders is said to be nearing a crucial stage.
