PJTSAU Ranked No 1 Farm Varsity In South India
Hyderabad, July 19 (Maxim News): The Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU) has been ranked No. 1 Agricultural University in South India and the 6th best in the country for the year 2018, as per the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) Ranking released by Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar on the ICAR Foundation Day in Delhi celebrated on July 16.
The ranking was based on performance across 33 parameters pertaining to teaching, research and extension excellence. Competing with 74 Agricultural Universities, Deemed Universities & Central Agricultural Universities, the PJTSAU showed a remarkable improvement over the 12th rank achieved in 2016 to the 6th rank in 2018.
“We are delighted to have improved upon our ranking this year, but we have to work harder. PJTSAU will increase its efforts to ensure that it is recognized as a top institution not only in India, but also internationally, for its quality of teaching and research. Our aim was to produce globally competitive technical manpower in agricultural sciences, who are socially and environmentally responsible”, said Prof. Praveen Rao Velchala, Vice Chancellor, PJTSAU.
