PM Modi Unveils Rs. 7,217 Crore Development Projects in Bihar
Patna/Hyderabad, July 18 (Maxim News): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday launched a slew of infrastructure and welfare projects worth ₹7,217 crore during a large public gathering at Gandhi Maidan in Motihari, East Champaran district of Bihar.
During the event, the Prime Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for several development initiatives and also flagged off four Amrit Bharat trains, strengthening rail connectivity in Bihar and surrounding regions.
New Employment Scheme Announced
In a significant move aimed at boosting youth employment, PM Modi announced a new government scheme, under which ₹15,000 will be provided to first-time employees working in private companies. The scheme is set to launch on August 1, with the Centre earmarking ₹1 lakh crore for its implementation.
“New employment for new youth. Bihar’s young population will benefit immensely,” the Prime Minister said, emphasizing the government’s focus on making Bihar a hub of opportunities.
Bihar’s Role in India’s Development
PM Modi called for Eastern India, especially Bihar, to take a leading role in India’s growth journey, stating the region holds immense untapped potential.
“Our resolution is a developed Bihar and employment for every youth. They should not need to migrate for work. For this, the Centre is working shoulder-to-shoulder with the Bihar government,” he affirmed.
The Prime Minister highlighted the ongoing recruitment drives, infrastructure upgrades, and job-creation schemes as part of this broader developmental push.
Sharp Criticism of Previous Governments
Modi took a strong swipe at past RJD-Congress governments, accusing them of corruption, misgovernance, and ignoring the poor.
“Under RJD and Congress rule, the poor never received the benefits of welfare schemes. Leaders were focused on loot, not development,” he said.
He further recalled how families were once afraid to even paint their houses or save money openly, fearing harassment and theft.
“Earlier, women had to hide even ₹10. Today, crores of Jan Dhan accounts have been opened, giving women and poor families access to formal banking and financial dignity,” he added.
Massive Public Support
The rally witnessed a huge turnout, with chants supporting Modi’s vision for Bihar and India. Locals expressed hope that these new projects and job initiatives would bring transformative change to the State’s economy and infrastructure.
