On Wednesday, January 7, PMK chief Anbumani Ramadoss formally joined the NDA alliance. He announced the decision after meeting AIADMK chief and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Palaniswami in Chennai. The meeting marked the official entry of PMK into the alliance. The timing of the announcement has added momentum to opposition coordination efforts.

Responding to the development, AIADMK chief Palaniswami said the alliance had become stronger with the inclusion of PMK. He also stated that other parties were ready to join the NDA alliance. Palaniswami further announced that the NDA is the “Victory Alliance.” His remarks signaled confidence within the alliance as election preparations gather pace.

Meanwhile, PMK chief Anbumani Ramadoss outlined his party’s political stand after joining the NDA. He said, “all of us will work together to lead the alliance to victory in the upcoming assembly elections.” He also stated that the aim of the party is to “dethrone the anti-women, anti -people and corrupt DMK.” Ramadoss added that the alliance would “win with a huge majority and form the government under the leadership of AIADMK.” These remarks set a clear political tone for the coming months.

On the other hand, political discussions have also focused on the BJP’s efforts to include TVK chief Vijay in the NDA alliance. This has added another dimension to the evolving scenario. Earlier, Palaniswami had offered TVK chief Vijay an opportunity to join the alliance to defeat the ruling DMK. However, it remains to be seen what decision Vijay will take.

As opposition parties continue to strengthen alliances, attention has now shifted to how Chief Minister Stalin will respond to the emerging political challenge. The growing coordination among rival parties has become a major point of interest in Tamil Nadu’s political circles.
