Police Commemoration In Telangana From Oct 21
Hyderabad, Oct 19 (Maxim News): The Police Commemoration period in Telangana will be observed from October 21 to October 31. It will culminate on National Unity Day, the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. A variety of programs will be conducted across the state to honor these martyrs.

Telangana State Police will join the nation in observing Police Commemoration Day on October 21, 2024. This day is dedicated to paying tribute to the brave police personnel who have made the ultimate sacrifice while serving the nation and protecting its people. Their sacrifice in the face of anti-national and anti-social elements is a testament to their courage and commitment to ensuring peace and security. This year, 234 police personnel across India laid down their lives while on duty, including one martyr from Telangana.
The observance of Police Commemoration Day dates back to October 21, 1959, when a patrol party of the CRPF, led by SI Karam Singh, was ambushed by Chinese forces at Hot Springs, Ladakh. Despite extreme conditions, ten jawans fought valiantly, and their martyrdom is commemorated on this day, marking the courage displayed at an altitude of 16,000 ft. (Maxim News)
