Police Constable Rewarded For Exemplary Work

Hyderabad, Oct.18 (Maxim News): K. Vijay Kumar, Police Constable of Rajendranagar Traffic Police Station, who has done extraordinary work by taking care of a missing old man by feeding him every day and handing him over to their family safely, was rewarded by the officers.

A press note said that on October 6, the constable was performing his duty at Aaramghar. He saw an old unknown male person roaming on the road, following which he took him to road side and advised him not to move on roads. Later the constable saw his condition and offered him tea and biscuits. On the next day, the missing man saw the constable, came to him and made signals to him to give food. Seeing that the person was under starvation, the police constable arranged food to him and continued to feed him for next five days. Later he interacted with him and asked his personal details but he did not reveal anything and given a clue that he is a Bengali. The constable opened Google translate app and started conversation of missing man on Google translate app and came to know he is resident of Uday Narayanpur Village of West Bengal and his name is Madan Malik.

Basing on the information, he contacted with Uday Narayanpur PS and revealed that one person from that PS jurisdiction was missing and found at Hyderabad and requested the staff of Uday Narayanpur PS to talk with the missing person and collect his personal details. Later Uday Narayanpur PS verified with the missing complaints lodged in their PS and summoned the family members of missing man to their PS and contacted over phone with the constable Vijay Kumar where the family members of missing man requested him to take care of the missing man up to their arrival and then confirmed the missing man as their family member through Whatsapp video call made by constable Vijay Kumar.

The matter was informed to K.Prasad, Asst. Commissioner of Police, Shamshabad Traffic Division, and with his help he was lodged in rescue home at Rajendranagar. Later on arrival of his family members, the missing man was handed over to them safely on October 14. The extraordinary work done by constable Vijay kumar was appreciated by S.M.Vijay Kumar, DY. Commissioner of Police, and K. Prasad, Asst. Commissioner of Police, Shamshabad Traffic Division. A cash reward was given to him by K. Prasad. (Maxim News)
