Police Crackdown on Osmania University Students Continues
Hyderabad, March 22 (Maxim News): The police crackdown on Osmania University (OU) students protesting against the ban on campus demonstrations continued on Saturday.
Several students, including BRSV Secretary Jangaiah, were detained by the police from the university hostels.
Jangaiah condemned the university’s circular banning protests, calling it undemocratic and a violation of students’ rights. He also criticized the Telangana Congress government for arresting students who were questioning the university administration.
“The fight against this circular will continue until it is withdrawn,” he asserted.
Referring to the Congress party’s election manifesto, he demanded the immediate implementation of promises, including electric scooters for women students.
He also highlighted student concerns regarding poor campus infrastructure, calling for the construction of new hostels and libraries. Additionally, he demanded the state government clear pending fee reimbursements without delay.
Among those arrested and shifted to the OU Police Station were B. Nagaraj Yadav, V. Ramakrishna, and Sai Goud (BRSV), along with Nelli Satya and Bhagat (AISF). (Maxim News)
