Politician Shrikant Tyagi Likely to Surrender

Shrikant Tyagi, Security has been increased at the Surajpur court in Greater Noida, where self-described BJP leader Shrikant Tyagi’s attorney is believed to have now filed a surrender application, amid a large manhunt by Noida Police underway to apprehend Tyagi, who was observed beating a woman at a housing complex.

Injuring and heckling a woman at Noida Sector 93’s Grand Omaxe community last week, Shrikant Tyagi, who described himself as the national executive member of the BJP’s Kisan Morcha and national co-coordinator of its Yuva Samiti, vanished when recordings of the event went viral.

Despite Tyagi’s claims to be affiliated with the BJP, the party has so far taken a stand against them.

Noida Police is apparently working with other police agencies to apprehend the evading self-described politician, and a reward of Rs 25,000 has been offered for information leading to his location. According to the information that is now available, Shrikant Tyagi has been missing since the video of him abusing a woman at Noida’s Grand Omaxe society went viral. Twelve teams have been created to find him.

According to sources, 50 locations have so far been searched.

Shrikant Tyagi had harassed and beaten the woman at Grand Omaxe in Noida’s Sector 93, and JCBs were dispatched there on Monday. On orders from the Noida administration, the JCBs removed unauthorised buildings at Shrikant Tyagi’s home in the housing complex.

On Saturday, the Noida Police announced that they had arrested four of the politician’s close friends, seized two of his vehicles, and filed a new FIR against him.

Pankaj Tyagi, a Noida MLA, announced on Monday that Tyagi will soon be arrested and that “this attitude will not be accepted.” Shrikant Tyagi’s illegal properties will all be subject to action, according to Singh, who also added that the bulldozer operation was in response to allegations filed against him by Grand Omaxe society residents in Noida.

In relation to an altercation with a fellow resident of their housing society in Sector 93B, Tyagi was arrested on Friday under Indian Penal Code section 354 (attack or use of criminal force on any lady, intending to outrage or knowing it to be likely that he may thereby offend her modesty).

Shrikant Tyagi had planted some trees when the woman objected, claiming it was against the law even though he insisted it was within his rights to do so.

“We responded right away when the incident was made public, and a FIR was filed as a result. Four of Shrikant Tyagi’s close friends were detained for questioning today (Saturday) as part of the ongoing inquiry into the matter, according to Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (law and order) Ranvijay Singh.

“The police crew that went to the location discovered three Tyagi automobiles there. Two of them were detained after being determined to be in violation of the Motor Vehicle Act. The official symbol of the Uttar Pradesh government was displayed on the third car, a Toyota Fortuner, but it was against the law, he continued.

According to Singh, a separate FIR has been filed for misuse of a government sign.

On social media, a number of videos from Friday’s broadcast appeared that appeared to show Tyagi allegedly hitting the woman and yelling expletives. Additionally, he insulted her and her spouse while making jokes about her.

After police offered him Rs 25,000 for his information and took action with a bulldozer, politician Shrikant Tyagi is likely to surrender.
