Postal Voting Facility To 13 Types Of Emergency Services Personnel

Hyderabad, Oct 19 (Maxim News): In the upcoming elections in the state, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has made available 13 types of emergency services personnel, including the elderly and disabled in the upcoming elections in the state.  

The Election Commission has given them the opportunity to vote at home Authorities are creating awareness so that more people can use this opportunity.  All five constituencies are eligible for postal voting.  In order to avail of this facility, all the candidates of the respective divisions have to apply to the Constituency Returning Officer (RVO) with appropriate certificates.  Among them in the first category, service electors are employees working in the army, (2) special electors are the natives working in the offices of the President and others (3) those arrested under the PD Act (4) employees and staff on election duty in the fifth division, there are 21 types of disabled people who are above 80 years of age and have more than 40 percent disability as notified voters.  BLOs come to their homes, form 12D will be given to those who prefer to vote by post.  Once the RVO approves the postal vote, the concerned voter cannot vote directly at the polling station.

Emergency services workers who are unable to vote due to election duties have been given a fresh place in the list of notified voters.  These services were made available for the first time in the country during the recent Karnataka elections.  AAI (Airports Authority of India), FCI (Food Corporation of India), Doordarshan, PIB (Press Information Bureau), AIR (All India Radio), BSNL, Indian Railways, RTC, Electricity, health Family Welfare, Journalists certified by RTC, Fod, Civil supplies, fire Departments and Central Election Commission are included in this category.  The respective organizations can issue Form-12D to the employees through the returning officers and provide a postal vote facility.

voters will be given the opportunity to vote by post on two dates.  The voter is free to choose a convenient day.  The political parties will receive the details of the respective dates, times, and postal voters.  Agents can also come if required.  this entire process is captured on video.  

A polling compartment is set up at the voter’s home and the ballot paper is issued.  After voting for the candidate of your choice without being seen by anyone, the ballot paper should be placed in a small envelope (Form-13B), sealed, and given to the Election Officer.  They have to sign the certificate (Form-13A) that they have voted. Afterward, the election Officer will put these two in another big envelope (Form-13C) and seal it in the presence of the voter.  The postal votes thus collected will reach the Returning Officer in the evening.  (Maxim News)
