Power Generation Increased Multi-Fold In Last Six Years Due To CM’s Efforts: Ajay Misra
Hyderabad, Feb.19 (Maxim News): Institution of Engineers (India), Telangana State Center, under aegis of Electrical Engineering Division Board, is conducting All India Seminar on “Policies of Governments, Paradigms, Challenges and Opportunities for Sustainable Electrical Power in India” between February 19 and 20, on the occasion of its centenary celebrations.
The program is being organized in association with Telangana State Power Generation Corporation Ltd, Transmission Corporation of Telangana Ltd., Telangana State Renewable Energy Development Corporation Ltd and Telangana State Electricity Regulatory Commission.
Ajay Misra, IAS, Special Chief Secretary to Government, Department of Energy, is the chief guest and N. Jannaiah, VC & MD, TS REDCO, is the guest of honour. Past chairmen, past presidents, council members, entrepreneurs and students from various colleges participated in the function.
Speaking on the occasion, Ajay Misra opined that conducting seminars of this nature would certainly help exchange views and help arrive at conclusions, which would help formulate policies and programs by the Governments. He also explained about the initiatives pursued by Telangana government under dynamic leadership of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhara Rao. He said the Telangana State was supplying power round-the-clock to domestic and irrigation sectors.
He also claimed that during the last six years, power generation has been increased multi fold and efforts are being made vigorously to increase the quantum of renewable energy also to tide over the situation. The Chief Minister was keen on supplying quality power with much reduced tariff and efforts are being focused on solar energy, roof top, digital systems and so on.
Dr G Rameshwar Rao, FIE, Chairman, IEI, TSC, said electricity is the main ingredient and also an essential driver for industrial growth and its sustenance. He also said IEI, TSC received “Best State Centre Award” for the year 2018-2019. The Award was bestowed to IEI, TSC during the course of 34th Indian Engineering Congress.
N.Jannaiah, VC & MD, Southern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Limited, explained about the sources of Renewable Energy and the efforts being made by TSREDCO in increasing the Renewable Energy. Prof. C. Ramanujacharyulu, FIE, Convenor, Organizing Committee, explained said the objective of conducting the All India Seminar. He advised the budding Engineers to participate actively in large numbers during technical sessions and get themselves acquainted with the proceedings.
Technical Session-I chaired by B. Koti Reddy, Scientific Officer, Dept of Atomic Energy, Dr Naga Sujatha, JNTU-H, V. Bilolikar, SCI, Mabhu Jani Shaik, AU, Vizag, Afreen Begum and Dr M. Vijaya Ramaiah of Shadan Womens’ College of Engineering spoke. (Maxim News)
