Pranahita-Chevella Project Stopped Only For Commissions: Alleged Uttam
Hyderabad, July 26 (Maxim news): Minister for Irrigation, Uttam Kumar Reddy has lashed out at the previous BRS government headed by the then Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao for stopping the Pranahita-Chevella project for the commission purpose.

He spoke at a media conference organized at Hyderabad Jalasoudha, he said that the cost of the Kaleshwaram project has been increased from Rs. 38,500 crores to Rs. 80,000 crores. According to CAG calculations, Rs. 1.47 lakh crores are needed to complete the project.
The running cost of the kaleshwaram project is also very high. If all the pumps in the project are run at full capacity, the electricity bill will be Rs. 10 thousand crores. If the project is completed and all the motors are running, this cost is likely to increase.

Loans were taken at high interest for this project. Rs. 15 thousand crores have to be spent on kaleshwaram per year. So far, Rs. 94 thousand crores have been spent on the Kaleshwaram project, only 93 thousand acres under Kaleswaram were cultivated under the new ayakat.
BRS is alleging that Congress has conspired against Medigadda, When Medigadda started and even when it collapsed, the BRS government was in power. In medigadda, the pillars are sagged inwards by 6 feet. The NDSA clarified that the barrage collapsed due to shoddy construction. BRS is also making allegations on the NDSA report.

The National Dam Safety Authority was established by a Central Act. The barrage collapsed on October 21, our government was formed in December.
