President Murmu Arrived In Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Dec 17 (Maxim News): President Murmu Hyderabad visit began on Wednesday as President Droupadi Murmu arrived at Rashtrapati Nilayam in Secunderabad for her annual winter sojourn. The visit forms part of her regular stay in the city, during which she undertakes official engagements. The arrival marked the start of a five day stay that will continue until December 22.

Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, state ministers and senior officials received the President at the Air Force Station in Hakimpet. After the reception, she proceeded to Rashtrapati Nilayam, where she will reside during the visit. Meanwhile, security arrangements and official protocols were put in place for the President’s stay.

President Murmu Arrived In Hyderabad

During the winter sojourn, President Murmu will carry out several official engagements in Hyderabad. On December 19, she will inaugurate a national conference of chairpersons of public service commissions. The Telangana Public Service Commission is organising the conference in Hyderabad. Therefore, senior officials and representatives from various public service commissions are expected to take part in the event.

Later, on December 20, the President will address another major gathering in the city. She will speak at a conference titled ‘Timeless Wisdom of Bharat: Pathways of Peace and Progress’. The Brahma Kumaris Shanti Sarovar in Hyderabad is organising the conference to mark its 21st anniversary. According to a statement issued by Rashtrapati Bhavan, the event will focus on themes of peace and progress.

The President visits Rashtrapati Nilayam at least once every year. She uses this period to conduct official business away from the national capital. Meanwhile, Rashtrapati Nilayam in Hyderabad and The Retreat Building in Shimla serve as the two Presidential Retreats. They symbolise the integrative role of the President’s office and the unity of the country across regions and cultures.

Located at Bolarum, Rashtrapati Nilayam has historical significance. It was taken over from the Nizam of Hyderabad after Independence. Later, authorities handed it over to the President’s Secretariat. Therefore, the winter sojourn also reflects the continued use of the historic estate for constitutional duties and official engagements. (Maxim News)
