Hyderabad, April 23 (Maxim News): Amidst tense situation, Political Analyst and educationist Prof Nageshwar launched dharna in support of the agitating students and their parents at the office of Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education at Nampally on Tuesday. However, the police stepped into the scene and took Prof. Nageshwar into custody and escorted him to the Begum Bazaar police station.
Prof. K Nageshwar, a former legislator, reached the Board office to express solidarity with the protesting students demanded immediate action against those responsible for lapses in the results. A large number of police personnel were deployed at the office to contain unrest. Students complained that they could not even apply online as the board’s website was not functioning. At one stage, he was about to collapse.
Lot of students, accompanied by their parents and political leaders thronged the BIE office for second consecutive day. They staged protests for alleged large scale anomalies and irregularities in marks and demanded justice for students. It may be mentioned here that the issue flared up after a lot of mistakes occurred in the Intermediate first and second year results. Over 15 students, who were stunned on seeing failure in the examination committed suicide. (Maxim News)
