PVRK Prasad passes away

Hyderabad: Retired IAS officer PVRK Prasad, remembered for his yeoman services as the Executive Officer of the Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanams, among various posts he held, passed away here in the early hours of Monday. He was 77 and is survived by his wife, son and daughter.

Prasad, revered as one of the most efficient civil servants of the undivided Andhra Pradesh, worked as an advisor to the former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao. He held several positions in State and Central governments.

His series of articles on Tirumala Tirupathi and its presiding deity Lord Venkateswara are very popular.

Governor ESL Narasimhan, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, YSRCP president YS Jaganmohan Reddy condoled him in separate statements.
