Rahul coming, will instil confidence among farmers: Mallu

Hyderabad, April 24 (Maxim News): CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka today said they were holding the public meeting of Rahul Gandhi to instil confidence among the farmers in the State. He said Rahul Gandhi would explain about the steps to be taken by the Congress party while addressing the public meeting on May 6 in Warangal district.

Speaking to media persons at the CLP office along with MPs N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, MLAs D. Sridhar Babu, T. Jayaprakash Reddy, TPCC campaign committee chairman Madhu Yaski Goud here on Sunday, Mallu alleged that the TRS government had cheated the farmers by not fulfilling its promise of waiver of crop loans. He also said the farmers have sustained huge losses due to the anti-farmer policies of the state and the Union governments.

Alleging that the TRS government failed to fulfil the promises it made to the farmers during the last Assembly elections, Mallu said Congress party promised to waive off crop loans of up to ₹2 lakh per farmer. He said the ruling party also made the same promise but failed to implement it even after three years of coming to power. He said loans and interest of lakhs of rupees were piled up now and added that it had become a burden for the farmers. He said they waived off crop loans of up to ₹1 lakh, provided interest free loans and subsidised seed, tractors and agriculture equipment to the farmers during the Congress rule.

The CLP leader also alleged that the TRS government had stopped all the schemes implemented by the previous State government and added that the TRS government was now claiming that it had transformed the face of the agriculture sector in the State. Vikramarka alleged that the TRS government had forgotten about its promise of providing three acres of agriculture land to the landless Dalit families. He alleged that the TRS government had taken away the assigned lands allotted by the Congress government in the undivided Andhra Pradesh State to poor Dalit and tribal farmers and sold them off by turning them into plots.

Vikramarka also condemned the arrest of Gujarat MLA Jignesh Mewani by police. He alleged that BJP government at the Centre took away the fundamental right of freedom of expression conferred by Indian Constitution on all its citizens by arresting those who exercising their fundamental rights. He said the Dalits in the country would teach a befitting lesson to the BJP government at the Centre very soon. (Maxim News)
