Rahul Gandhi Defaming Country, Says Amit Shah

Hyderabad: Union Home Minister Amit Shah alleged that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s stand is always aimed at defaming the country. He made the remarks while reacting to recent incidents involving Youth Congress protests and Rahul Gandhi’s conduct near Parliament.

Amit Shah expressed strong criticism over an incident in which Youth Congress leaders removed their shirts and staged a protest at the AI conference in Delhi. He also condemned Rahul Gandhi for standing on the steps of Parliament and having tea and pakoras.

Shah said Parliament is a sacred place for democracy and questioned Rahul Gandhi’s actions at the location. He asked whether Rahul Gandhi did not know where breakfast should be taken. According to him, such actions showed a lack of respect for the institution.

Meanwhile, Amit Shah made the remarks during his visit to Assam. This visit marked the fourth time in four months that the Union Home Minister traveled to the state, where elections are due soon.

During the visit, Shah accused Rahul Gandhi of trying to defame the country by opposing the Bharatiya Janata Party and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that no Indian would support such actions.

As part of the visit, Amit Shah inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for healthcare projects worth more than Rs. 2,000 crore. The projects are aimed at strengthening the healthcare sector in Assam.

Shah criticizes Congress rule in Assam

While speaking at the event, Amit Shah also criticized the earlier Congress government in the state. He alleged that during its 15 year rule, the Congress government allocated Rs. 150 crore annually from the health sector budget.

“In Assam, the Congress spent Rs. 150 crore annually from the health sector budget during its 15 year rule. During that time, the health system became chaotic. The party worked only for the financial interests of its leaders’ families,” Amit Shah alleged.

Shah said the BJP government is working to ensure that medical services reach all sections of society at affordable prices. He added that the current administration is focusing on strengthening healthcare infrastructure.

He also congratulated Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for improving the state’s healthcare facilities. According to Shah, the medical system in Assam has reached the level of states such as Gujarat, Maharashtra and Karnataka.
