Rains In Hyderabad Continues To Lash Out
Hyderabad: With southwest monsoon refusing to take a break, Hyderabad continues to get lashed by incessant rains.
For more than a week, either light rainfall or moderate rainfall has been occurring in the city. Till 11 am on Thursday, Asifnagar witnessed a rainfall of 26.3 mm, followed by Bahadurpura (8.8 mm), Golconda (8.3 mm) and Charminar (8 mm).
The average rainfall in the city recorded at the Meteorological department’s observatory in Begumpet on Wednesday was 22.1 mm. During the last 24 hours, Patancheru recorded the highest rainfall of 37.8 mm in Greater Hyderabad limits.
A weather warning with the Met department said that thunderstorms accompanied with lightning was very likely to occur at isolated places over Telangana on Thursday with a possibility of heavy rain in several districts.
The intensity of monsoon remained high in districts. After a small respite in the last two days, monsoon again picked up in the State with Warangal Rural, Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Peddapalli, Karimnagar and Bhadradri-Kothagudem receiving heavy to very heavy rainfall on Wednesday night.
