Raja Narasimha’s Wife Joins BJP—Shock To Congress

Hyderabad, Oct.11 (Maxim News): Giving a shock to the Congress party in the State, the wife of senior leader of the party and Election Manifesto committee chairman Damodar Raja Narasimha, C Padmini Reddy, also a senior leader of the party, today joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at the BJP State office here.

Padmini Reddy joined the BJP in the presence of BJP State Chief Dr K Laxman and BJP general secretary P Muralidhar Rao, and accepted the saffron kanduva, after quitting the Congress. Speaking to the media later, she stated she was a fan pf Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and she whole-heartedly joined the BJP as she appreciated the measures launched by the BJP for the welfare of the people. She expressed confidence that she would win the Sangareddy Assembly seat, if the BJP gave her ticket to contest. Asked whether her husband Rajanarasimha also would embrace the BJP, she refused to reply. Rajanarasimha was a Deputy Chief Minister earlier during the Congress regime.

It is learnt that Padmini Reddy was expecting a Congress ticket to contest from Sangareddy, which was given to former MLA Jayaprakash Reddy (Jagga Reddy). She was upset over this.

Padmini joining the BJP is considered as a boost to the BJP in the State after Damodar Raja Narasimha’s political rival in his home constituency, Andole, Babu Mohan joining the BJP recently, quitting the TRS, as he was not given ticket by the party.

Speaking after Padmini Reddy joining the BJP, Muralidhar Rao hailed her efforts for restoration of temples. “We are happy to welcome Padmini Reddy into the party. In the upcoming days, the party will be benefited by her contributions. She was inspired by the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. No decision was taken yet regarding offering party ticket to her,” he added.

Dr Laxman said there was nothing wrong in spouses working for two different parties. He promised to waive women’s loans if the BJP is voted to power in the elections in the State.(Maxim News)
