Hyderabad: A 70 year old father has approached the Revenue Divisional Officer seeking return of his assets, alleging that his daughters neglected him after sharing his property. M Rajalingam of Westmaredupally, Secunderabad, filed a petition with the RDO, demanding protection and restoration of assets he distributed among his children.
Rajalingam stated that he is facing harassment and emotional distress. Therefore, he urged authorities to intervene and ensure his safety. He also requested that the assets he gave his daughters be returned, as he claims they are not taking care of him.
Rajalingam Alleges Daughters Shared Assets, Neglected Him
According to Rajalingam, he has three daughters. His eldest daughter, Bhagyalakshmi, works as a manager in a private company. Meanwhile, his second daughter is a government employee in the Jhansi Medical Department. He did not disclose details about his third daughter.
Rajalingam alleged that after the death of his wife, his two daughters shared his assets and stopped caring for him. He said he owned a 130 yard house plot. He gave 65 yards each to his two daughters. In addition, he stated that his wife had 15 tolas of gold, and seven and a half tolas each were given.
He further alleged that although the eldest daughter’s house has three rooms, he was confined to a room near the bathroom, while the other rooms were locked. Moreover, he claimed that his second daughter, who earns rent of Rs. 22,000 per month from the property he gave her, provides him only Rs. 1,500 per month.
Rajalingam also alleged that his elder son in law is attempting to sell the house in the name of debts. Therefore, he appealed to the RDO to return his properties from the two daughters. He maintained that they are neglecting him and causing him pain. Authorities are yet to respond to the petition.
