Ramchander Rao joined party leaders and workers at the protest. He continued the hunger strike for several hours without food or water.

However, his health condition weakened around noon. Doctors examined him at the protest venue after he reportedly felt unwell.

The medical team found that his blood pressure had fallen to 90/60.

Doctors advised him to rest and end the hunger strike due to his declining health.

Meanwhile, the BJP said the protest focuses on the financial difficulties faced by students and educational institutions because of pending fee reimbursement payments.

The party has demanded that the state government release the outstanding funds without further delay. It said the pending payments affect the education of a large number of students across Telangana.

BJP leaders said the party would continue its campaign until the government clears the dues. They also warned that the party could intensify its protests if the pending payments remain unresolved.

The protest has added to the political debate over student welfare and government funding for higher education in Telangana.

The BJP is seeking immediate action from the state government. However, the government’s response to the latest protest and the demand for complete clearance of the dues remains awaited.

The health episode also prompted the party to prioritise Ramchander Rao’s medical condition.

Doctors have advised him to take adequate rest after the fall in his blood pressure.
