Hyderabad, Nov. 7: Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao criticised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his ‘Chori Ki Baat Chai Pe’ meeting with senior party leaders in New Delhi.
Rao said the meeting would not help Congress win voter support. Rahul Gandhi hosted a pre-Diwali gathering at his residence on Friday to discuss the party’s future strategy and its ‘Vote Chori’ campaign.
The BJP leader accused Gandhi of copying Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Chai Pe Charcha’ concept. He alleged that the Congress leader was spreading false narratives instead of addressing public concerns.
Rao said political success required grassroots engagement and continuous work for people’s welfare. He added that street protests and public demonstrations would only generate media attention.
Ramchander Rao Questions Congress’s Vote Chori Campaign
Rao claimed that people were not convinced by Gandhi’s allegations of electoral irregularities. He also alleged that even Congress workers and leaders had doubts about the campaign’s effectiveness.
He further referred to Gandhi’s recent allegations concerning ‘E20 Petrol Chori’. Rao claimed that samples collected in Karnataka showed ethanol content exceeding the prescribed 20 per cent blend.
Using the term “420”, Rao accused the Congress leader of making another misleading allegation.
Rao said people had placed their trust in Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, senior ministers and alliance partners. He attributed this support to their focus on the country’s development and future.
