Regional Ring Rail Project Along RRR Is A Joke: KTR

Hyderabad, July 2 (Maxim News):  : Terming the Central Government’s announcement of taking up a Regional Ring Rail along the Regional Ring Road (RRR) as a ‘joke’, The ruling BRS Working President, son of the Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and Municipal Administration Minister K. Tarak Rama Rao said that for the Rs 26,000 crore project cost, the Centre allocated just Rs 14 crore for undertaking a survey. The RRR project itself is yet to take off, he said.

The BJP government at the Centre could not complete two flyovers — Uppal to Ghatkesar and Amberpet — so far though the National Highways Authority of India took up the work a few years ago, while the Telangana government had completed 35 flyovers in the last nine years, the Minister said.

“I demand Union Tourism Minister Kishan Reddy to first complete the two flyovers and open them to the public. I challenge if the Centre hands over the two flyovers, the state government will complete them in just six months and throw them open for commuters,” KTR said.

Kishan Reddy said a couple of days back that the Centre will take up the Regional Ring Rail along the RRR for the benefit of lakhs of passengers to head towards other states without entering Hyderabad. (Maxim News)
