Police said the deceased, a worker at a rice shop in Yakutpura, had earlier disputes with the main accused over real estate dealings and family issues.

Over the past few months, tensions reportedly escalated as Junaid allegedly interfered in property commission transactions and challenged the influence of the main accused. Investigators stated that this sustained rivalry led the accused to allegedly conspire to eliminate him.

Officers explained that the prime accused brothers, sons of a known rowdy sheeter, were allegedly collecting illegal commissions from property owners by threatening them.

When Junaid objected to these activities and supported a friend in a property purchase at Chandra Nagar, the accused allegedly felt their interests were threatened. They then allegedly involved other associates and formed a larger group to execute the plan.

According to the case details, on the night of 3 December 2025 the accused allegedly assembled at the residence of the main accused at Rahmath Nagar.

Police allege that the main accused, armed with knives, attacked Junaid while some associates held him, causing multiple stab injuries that proved fatal on the spot.

Investigators said they later recovered three knives allegedly used in the offence, along with an Ola electric bike and a Suzuki Burgman scooter that were reportedly used for movement before and after the incident.

Three mobile phones belonging to some of the arrested accused were also seized and are being examined as part of the investigation. Police stated that these items will be presented as material evidence before the court.
