Remove unauthorized encroachments from Heritage buildings: Director, Archaeology Dept

Hyderabad, Jan 10 (Maxim News): Ms. Visalakshi, Director, Archaeology Department said that the old Historical, Heritage buildings are more in the GHMC jurisdiction when compare to that of other States and every need is there to improve the existing structural conditions of the heritage buildings duly removing all unauthorized encroachments.
Dr. B. Janardhan Reddy, Commissioner, held a review meeting with all the Zonal Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, HODs of various Government heads of the departments with regard to various civic related issues held at 7 Tombs, Shaikpet.
While interacting with the officials Ms. Visalakshi, Director, Archeology briefed that most of the tourists from the Country and abroad is regularly visiting these heritage tourist spots.
In the context the Director requested the Commissioner, GHMC to give directions to all the Zonal and Deputy Commissioners to take appropriate steps to remove encroachments all along the road entrances of the heritage and historical buildings and to beautify all the tourist spots duly providing with modern infrastructure for the convenience of the tourists and also to safeguard the heritage buildings in GHMC.
As the part of to minimize the expenditure during review meetings at Paryataka Bhavan and other star hotels etc., the Commissioner decided to have review meetings at such historical and tourists places so that actual existing situation can be assessed more authentically to take steps to safeguard and also to provide modern infrastructure developments for the convenience of the tourists.
During this review meeting Rs. 5 food meals were arranged to the officials thus saving lot of money. Earlier the Commissioner held a weekly review meeting with GHMC officials on improvement of Property Tax collection, Swachh Survekshan, Defacement of Public Properties, removal of encroachments / un authorized constructions, Court cases, elections and other issues.
The Commissioner instructed the officials from January 26th onwards all should try for 100% segregation of dry and wet waste. (Maxim News)
