Revanth challenges his rival Narender’s election
Hyderabad, Jan.24 (Maxim News): TPCC working president A. Revanth Reddy today filed a petition in the High Court alleging that his political rival of ruling TRS and Kodangal MLA P. Narender Reddy committed several irregularities in the recent Assembly elections.
In his petition, Revanth Reddy said sleuths of Income Tax Department conducted raids on a farm house owned by Narender Reddy at Kosgi. He said the IT department seized Rs 50 lakh cash and a dairy containing details of Rs 6.50-crore expenditure in the elections. He also said the IT department had submitted a report to the Election Commission after the raids and the EC had declared that it had seized Rs 51 lakh from the farm house of the MLA. Revanth Reddy further said Narender Reddy had told the EC officials that he had spent Rs 19 lakh after the elections.
Revanth also claimed that the TRS MLA had a petrol pump at Shahbad and those, who hold a petrol pump license were not eligible to contest the Assembly elections as per the EC election Commission rules. He also alleged that Narender Reddy didn’t mention the details about his petrol pump. He also alleged that the MLA received foreign funds for his election expenses, which was completely banned by the EC. The Congress leader said all those who received funds from the foreign countries were not qualified to contest the elections. He said Narender Reddy had mentioned in his election affidavit that he had received Rs 5 lakh from the US. He urged the court to disqualify Narender Reddy from his post. (Maxim News)
