Revanth Gives Slip To Police, Reaches Pragathi Bhavan
Hyderabad, Oct.21 (Maxim News): Malkajgiri MP and senior leader A Revanth Reddy was supposed to be under house arrest, managed to evade the police and reach Pragathi Bhavan on a bike. The police, however, took him into preventive custody this afternoon, at Pragathi Bhavan.
In a dramatic manner, Revanth, known as a bitter critic of the TRS Government, forcibly came out of his residence at Jubilee Hills and jumped onto a bike of his supporters and rushed to Pragathi Bhavan. As he reached the CM’s camp office, he was caught by the police and taken into custody. Tensions reached a high at the place as the agitating Congress workers protested against the police.
Speaking to the media as he was whisked away, Revanth Reddy demanded the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao to hold talks with the RTC workers and end the strike. He also said that compensation should be paid to the families of the workers who laid down their lives during the TSRTC strike. The Congress MP warned that if the situation continued like this, the four crore people of Telangana would come forward and break the wall of Pragathi Bhavan.
“Pragathi Bhavan Gatelu Thaakuthamani Annamu…Thaaki Chupinchamu”, (We said that we will lay siege to Pragathi Bhavan and we have reached the walls of this place), he said while the police whisked away from the place. (Maxim News)
