Revanth Govt. In Dilemma On Panchayat Elections
Hyderabad, Jan 29 (Maxim News): The state government led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is in a dilemma over the Panchayat elections. It has decided to proceed with the elections after the Dedication Commission report comes in. The Dedication Commission will submit its report by February 2. After the report comes in, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy will once again hold a review with the officials.
On the other hand, it seems that the government is planning to hold the Panchayat elections in February. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy held a review of Panchayat Raj and Rural Development departments at the integrated Police Command Control Center today
Chief Minister along with Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Ministers Seethakka, Uttam Kumar Reddy, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, CS Shanthikumari and many other high officials attended the meeting. The comprehensive family survey conducted by the state government was discussed. The CM congratulated the officials who completed the household survey. However, everyone expected that a decision would be taken on the Panchayat Raj elections in this meeting. However, the Telangana government is facing a dilemma over the Panchayat elections. Although the draft related to the caste census has been prepared, the Dedication Commission has not yet given its final report. The Dedication Commission has told the government that it will submit it to the Cabinet Sub-Committee by February 2.
In this context, it seems that there is a possibility of meeting again after February 2 and deciding on the Panchayat elections. The government is exploring the possibilities of increasing BC reservations in local bodies. The government is debating whether to go ahead with the old method on reservations or get the opportunity to increase them in judicial posts. The government has decided to move forward as per the advice of legal experts. The term of the Sarpanch in the Panchayats already expired on February 1, 2024, last year and special powers came.
