Revanth Reddy CPI centenary speech targets Modi policies
Revanth Reddy CPI centenary | Hyderabad, Jan. 18: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Sunday called for a united struggle against what he described as the anti people policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP government.
Speaking at the centenary celebrations of the Communist Party of India in Khammam city, he said people must come together to resist these policies.
CM Revanth asserted that the BJP is more dangerous than British rule and urged collective action to defeat it.
Revanth Reddy said the Congress and the CPI share a long history of struggles that helped secure many rights for the people.
Reddy noted that both parties played key roles in the freedom movement. Therefore, he said, independence was achieved through their combined efforts.
However, he alleged that after independence, Prime Minister Narendra Modi introduced several policies that undermined people’s rights. According to him, these policies affected every section of society.
While recalling past reforms, the Chief Minister referred to major agrarian changes introduced under Indira Gandhi.
CM Reddy said the slogan of land to the tiller shaped agricultural reforms. As a result, thousands of acres were taken from landlords and distributed to farmers.
He also said communist movements highlighted issues faced by farmers, especially the lack of fair prices for crops. Because of these struggles, he added, Congress brought laws to protect farmers and curb the middlemen system.
