Revanth Reddy faults govt’s attitude in drugs case
Hyderabad, March 11 (Maxim News): TPCC chief A. Revanth Reddy today faulted the attitude of the State government in the investigation of sensational drugs case in Telangana. He alleged that several big wigs of the State government were behind the sensational case.
Reminding the repeated statements of KCR that the State had been made a gutka, matka and gudumba free state, he alleged that the ground level situation was totally different. He alleged that the drugs were freely available in Hyderabad. He said the drugs consumption menace was spreading rapidly to all the educational institutions in the State. He also ridiculed the ruling party leaders like KTR and government whip Balka Suman stating that the raising of drugs issue in public domain would damage the image of the State. He asked the State government as to what happened to the sensational drugs case booked in 2017 besides asking it as to why the State government suddenly transferred the then incharge of the drugs case Akun Sabharwal from his post.
Revanth Reddy said he did not get any relief in his efforts to prevent the consumption of the drugs in the State although he approached all investigation and regulatory agencies and the High Court. Alleging that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) was ready to take up the investigation in the issue, the State government was opposing the inquiry by the ED. He also alleged that the Excise department was not ready to hand over the evidence gathered by it in the drugs case to the ED. He urged the Centre to respond on the issue and hand over the inquiry of the drugs to an independent agency.
Predicting that the Congress party will come back to power after another 12 months, he said they would take up the inquiry of the drugs case after coming into power. (Maxim News)
