Revanth Reddy Orders IIIT Hyderabad To Report On Impact Of Construction Of Polavaram Project

Hyderabad, Jan 5 (Maxim News): Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has ordered a report prepared by the IIT Hyderabad team on the impact of the construction of the Polavaram project on Telangana.

On Saturday, Irrigation department officials met the Chief Minister and were told to prepare a comprehensive report within a month.

CM Revanth ordered a comprehensive study on the threat posed to the Bhadrachalam temple by the construction of Polavaram.

Officials explained to the CM that Bhadrachalam was inundated when 27 lakh cusecs of flood water arrived in 2022.

Officials brought the Godavari-Banakacharla project undertaken by the AP government to the attention of CM Revanth. They said that there were no permissions for that project.

Officials clarified that there are no permissions for the project being built based on flood waters. Officials explained that the AP government had recently given a PowerPoint presentation on this project.

Revanth was asked to convey his objections to the AP CS and, if necessary, to write letters to the Godavari River Management Board and the Central Jal Shakti Department. (Maxim News)
