Hyderabad, Mar 6 (Maxim News) : Chief Minister Revanth Reddy attended a thanksgiving meeting organised by the Madiga Community Employees Coordination Committee in Hyderabad on Friday.
The event took place at Shilpakala Vedika. Madiga community employees thanked the Chief Minister for supporting legal status for SC categorisation.
Revanth Reddy said the Madiga community fought a long struggle for SC categorisation. He noted that many people sacrificed their lives during the movement.
CM Revanth said he had closely watched the issue for many years. He also said he always supported the demand for categorisation.
The Chief Minister recalled that the Assembly once expelled him during the struggle on this issue. However, he said he stood firmly with the community despite pressure.
CM Revanth added that many leaders and activists joined the fight for justice.
Revanth Reddy said Telangana became the first state to announce steps for categorisation after the Supreme Court judgment. He stated that justice clearly supports the Madiga community on this issue. Therefore, he said he stood with them until the final decision.
Revanth Reddy Highlights Government Commitment
The Chief Minister also spoke about the Congress government’s commitment to welfare and development. He said the government came to power with the support of the people. According to him, people collectively voted to remove the previous BRS government.
Revanth Reddy said the Congress government won through commitment rather than promises alone. He added that the administration has started several reforms since coming to power.
CM Revanth also explained why he chose to handle the education department himself. The Chief Minister said his goal is to bring education closer to every poor family.
Therefore, the government has already started major reforms in the education sector.
The government introduced the breakfast scheme in government schools. It also plans to distribute school kits that include bags for students. In addition, the administration is providing healthy food to children.
Revanth Reddy said poverty should never stop a child from getting an education. He said the government will ensure that every student receives proper opportunities to study.
The Chief Minister also spoke about the development of the Madiga community.
He said he admired the characters Karna and Barbarika from the Mahabharata. According to him, both stood by those who faced injustice.
CM Revanth said he followed the same principle while supporting the Madiga community. Revanth Reddy assured that the government will work for better education and political opportunities for the community.
CM Reddy admitted that the state currently faces financial challenges. However, he promised that development and welfare will continue despite these difficulties.
