Hyderabad, Dec 30 (Maxim News): Minister for Transport Ponnam Prabhakar has asked the TSRTC workers to work hard to strengthen the organization, he said, the protection of the workers rights and their welfare, commuters and TSRTC organisation is our main responsibility.

He said that the irregularities committed by the previous BRS government headed by the then Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and the debts of the Corporation will be rectified.

The Minister flagged off 80 new TSRTC buses at the Ambedkar statue on NTR Marg today morning, Speaking on this occasion, the Minister said that he is happy to start 1050 new buses in RTC.  Chief Minister Revanth Reddy expressed his happiness of launching 80 new buses, soon 1000 electric buses will be launched.

He said that the TSRTC workers are working very hard and the corporation will grow due to their hard work.  He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, the free scheme was started within 48 hours of the formation of the government.  He said that so far 6 crore women have traveled in RTC buses. He said that the occupancy which used to be 40-50 is now going beyond 100, Minister Ponnam asked the authorities to work hard to implement free travel for women.

He said that advanced buses are being made available at a cost of Rs. 400 crores.  He said that facilities will be improved in 364 bus stands, and RTC officials should work to implement the government’s decisions responsibly.  He said that he knows that RTC workers’ efforts in the Telangana movement cannot be forgotten, as an activist and as an MP.  He said that the workers worked hard for the Telangana movement and the achievement of the state.

He said that the government is working for the welfare and protection of RTC.  Ponnam made it clear that free bus travel for women will continue in the future as well.  (Maxim News)
