Hyderabad, Dec 7 (Maxim News): Revanth Reddy took oath as the new Chief Minister of Telangana. Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundara Rajan administered the oath in a programme at LB Stadium, today.

While Revanth Reddy was taking the oath saying “I am Enumula Revanth Reddy”, the stadium erupted.  Congress workers and fans of Revanth Reddy went on a rampage.  They chanted Jai Revant anna.  Along with CM Revanth Reddy, top Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and family members of Revanth Reddy also graced the stage.

Revanth Reddy is a sensation in state politics.  He started his political career as ZPTC and rose to CM.  Even though he faced many ups and downs, he overcame everything and proved himself.  In the first step in politics, he contested as an independent candidate and won an unexpected victory as ZPTC.  After that, he won the MLC elections as an independent and created a sensation.  First in TDP and then in Congress, he made a name for himself.  Within a short period of joining the congress, he became the state chief of that party.  He brought the party to the brink of victory in the assembly elections and is now taking the reins as the CM.

Education, early career, and entry into politics

Revanth Reddy was born on November 8, 1969.  He belongs to Konda Reddy Palli in Wanguru Mandal of Sonthuru Nagar Kurnool district.  Parents Narsimha Reddy and Ramachandramma.  Revanth has six brothers and one sister.  Among them Revanth is the fifth.  Revanth, who completed his primary education in his hometown, completed his sixth grade in Tandra in Veldanda mandal, high school and inter in Wanaparthy.  After that he completed Fine Arts at JNTU in Hyderabad.  He worked in ABVP while studying for his degree.  At the same time he worked in Jagruti’ paper related to RSS.  Later he ran a printing press business for some time.

Losses and victories: Kodangal assembly elections and Lok Sabha elections

Revanth Reddy’s political career started as ZPTC.  Revanth entered the ring as an independent, gathered the support of the opposition and won as ZPTC.  Later, in 2007, he contested as an independent candidate in the MLC elections of local bodies and won an unexpected victory.  Later he joined TDP in 2008, in 2009, he contested as MLa from Kodangal on behalf of TDP and won.  He won against the then Congress candidate Gurnath Reddy with a majority of 6,989 votes.  Again in 2014, he contested from there and won against TRS candidate Gurnath Reddy with a majority of 14.694 votes.

Revanth joined the Congress in 2017 due to the political situation at that time.  He contested as a Congress candidate from Kodangal in the 2018 assembly elections and lost to the then TRS candidate Narender Reddy.  He then contested the 2019 Lok Sabha elections from Malkajgiri and won with a majority of 10,919 votes against the then TRs candidate Marri Rajasekhar Reddy.  After that, Revanth, who took over as the President of PCC in July 2021, worked hard to strengthen the party.  Revanth, who again contested from Kodangal in the recently held assembly elections, won against MLA Patnam narendra Reddy with a huge majority of 32,800.
