Revanth Urges CS Not To Demolish Secretariat BLDG Complex
Hyderabad, June 15 (Maxim News): Congress leader and Malkajgiri MP A. Revanth Reddy on Saturday wrote a letter to Chief Secretary SK Joshi and urged him to refrain from demolishing the existing secretariat building complex in the city. He said the different blocks of buildings of the secretariat complex had high structural stability and didn’t warrant any kind of demolition.
In his letter, he told the CS that the current complex has 10 blocks with a built-up area of 9.16 sft spread across 25 acres of land. He said most of the blocks in the complex were constructed after 2004 by the erstwhile AP State. He also told the CS that the present secretariat was constructed to meet the requirements of ten crore population of erstwhile AP and has accommodated 42 cabinet ministers. He told the CS that he wouldn’t have objected to the news related to the proposed demolition of the secretariat buildings had they been in a dilapidated conditions. He made it clear that the secretariat buildings could be used for any other public purposes. (Maxim News)
