Roof of Asif Jahi graves building at Makkah Masjid leaking

Hyderabad: The roof of the building erected on the graves of Asif Jahi kings at Makkah Masjid is leaking which is feared dilapidation. The ceiling is also in bad condition and lime has been falling down for the past three years. The walls are also leaking water.

The worshippers of the masjid invited the attention of the concerned authorities but it has been overlooked.

It may be mentioned that on Fridays, a large number of worshippers offer prayers in this building. The Dept. of Minorities Welfare treats this portion of the building as under the Nizam Wakf.

The employees of Makkah Masjid say that despite informing the facts, no action has yet been taken. Govt. of TS has no interest with this portion of the building. Although, the affairs of the graves are managed by Nizam Trust, it is not appropriate to depend on this institution for repairs. If this portion is not repaired immediately, it could lead to accidents which may be fatal. via siasat news
