Rs. 2 Lakhs Fine To Sri Chaitanya College, Madhapur

Hyderabad, Sept 28 (Maxim News): Additional Commissioner of Health, Pankaja said that on the 27th of this month, the GHMC Food Safety Officers conducted inspections at the Sri Chaitanya Central Kitchen in Madhapur, following a complaint that students fell ill due to food poisoning in the campus of Sri Chaitanya Akshara Girls’ Junior College, next to Indian Oil Petrol Bunk, Madhapur.

The food safety officials stated that many defects were noticed during this inspection, such as proper hygiene, sanitation management, non-compliance with food quality standards, lack of labels on food items, and the presence of cockroaches in the storage area. To that extent, the Madhapur Assistant Medical Officer has imposed a fine of Rs.2 lakhs. Similarly, a show cause notice was issued to the managers for further action under the provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, she said. (Maxim News)
