Sandeep Sultania presents Rotary Vocational Excellence Awards

Hyderabad: Rotary Club of Hyderabad Deccan presented its annual Vocational Service Excellence Awards for the year 2022-23 to two individuals and two institutions for taking Hyderabad on a global map. These awards were presented in a function held on Sunday at Hotel Radisson, Gachibowli in the city. 

The individuals who were presented with the Vocational Excellence Awards for excellence in their vocation were Gongadi Trisha for her performance in Cricket for the U-19 Indian Women Cricket team and Dr Mohana Vamsy, Chief Surgical Oncologist, Omega Hospital for the highest number of surgeries.

The Two organisations who were given the Vocational Excellence Awards were Dhruva Space for their work on Satellites, Deployers and Ground Stations and Skyroot Aerospace for being the first private company to launch a rocket into space

The awardees were chosen for their excellence in their respective fields. Rotary recognises the dignity and usefulness of every vocation as a way to serve society. Rotary, across the world every year, recognises individuals and organizations that have excelled in their vocation with an emphasis on working to the highest ethical standards. The recognitions are to showcase the awardees as role models to other professionals and the youth.

The Chief Guest Shri Sandeep Kumar Sultania, Secretary, Panchayati Raj and Rural Development and Youth Advancement, Tourism and Culture, Telangana State and Guest of Honour Raja Sekhar Reddy Talla, District Governor, Rotary District 3150 presented the awards

Speaking on the occasion immediately after receiving the award Dr Mohan Vamsy, who took a risk, built multiple organisations and shared his journey. And shared that 52% of Cancer patients in both the Telugu states are treated in the Omega group of hospitals.

Trisha said the Rotary Vocational Excellence award means a lot to her.

Vidya Bhavani who received the award on behalf of Dhruva Space said awards are rewards for excellence and encourage to continue the work.

Pavan Kumar Chandana, CEO of Skyroot Aerospace said when they ventured out into the business in 2018 there was no government policy on the Space Program for the private players. But, things changed since the one came into existence in 2020. What started small with a few handful of people, the organisation has grown now into 200 people he said.

Addressing the gathering Sandeep Kumar Sultania said several women from Telangana state are excelling in sports and representing the country on global platforms. India is the youngest nation in the world and is being dominated by young CEOs like the founders of two Space Technology Startups. The youth of today are job givers, and creators, who until now used to be job seekers. The new world order is going to be driven by youth, he said.

65% of the world’s youth live in India, said Raja Sekhar Reddy Talla, District Governor, Rotary District 3150.

The Rotary Club of Hyderabad Deccan is part of the global network of Rotary International, was chartered in 1988, and has more than 70 members from various vocations. The Rotary Club of Hyderabad Deccan Vocational Excellence Awards have feted several luminaries including Dr. Anji Reddy and several Padma Shri awardees far ahead of the time other honours caught up with them, said Vandith Reddy, President of Rotary Club of Hyderabad Deccan.

Rotary Vocational Director Ms. Simran described Rotary as the largest service organization in the world.
