Satyavathi Lauds Rachakonda Police In Controlling Crime Against Women
Hyderabad, March.5 (Maxim News): Minister for women Satyavati Rathod appreciated the efforts of the Rachakonda police in controlling crime against women. Sensitization to “Self Help groups” was organized as a part of International Women’s Day celebrations-2020 by the Rachakonda Police & Rachakonda Security Council at Bhongir.
Today, Sensitization to “Self-Help Groups” was held at Jayalakshmi Yashoda Gardens at Bhongir. The program was presided over by DCP Bhongir Narayan Reddy and Satyavathi Rathod was the chief guest. The minister spoke about various programs/schemes being implemented by the Chief Minister with regard to Women empowerment & economic development. She also spoke about creation of “She Teams” by the Chief Minister. She promised to take up the matter of Kerala Martiall Art form “Kalari Payattu” for training girl students in all the schools and colleges of Tribal Welfare Department for self-defense.
Speaking on the occasion, Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat, IPS, said they rescued 36 minor girls from women traffickers at Yadgirigutta hill shrine. Hailing the work of the “She Teams” in Rachakonda Commissionerate, the CP said the “She for Her” volunteers in the colleges and corporate offices will report crime against women. The role of Margadarshaks in preventing crime against women is laudable. He exhorted the SHG members to partner with the Police in prevention of crime. Addressing the gathering, Gongidi Sunitha, Aler MLA and Whip in the Assembly urged the SHG members to focus on self-empowerment, shun discriminating girl children from boys and treat them on equal footing. She exhorted the SHG members to spend at least two hours with their children and create friendly environment in their houses so that children could share their thoughts and feelings.
District Collector urged the SHGs to share and express their problems rather than feeling stressed. She also spoke about Shaki counseling center at Bhongir and asked them to seek their help when necessary.
Pailla Shekar reddy, MLA Bhongir, Alimineti Krishna Reddy, MLC, Alimineti Sandeep Reddy, ZP chairperson, Upender Reddy, PD, Krishnveni, District welfare officer, Narayana Reddy, DCP Bhongir, Saleema, Addl. DCP, She Teams, ACP Bhujangarao, Latha, RKSC Women’s Forum, Savitri Mutyala, Margadarshak of Rachakonda Security Council also spoke.
Some 1,800 SHG members from different villages of Yadadri-Bhongir District attended the sensitization program organized from 11am to 2pm today at Bhongir Town. Student police cadets, girls of ZPHS showcased Kerala martial art form Kalari Payattu for self-defense which has been appreciated by all. (Maxim News)
