Schedule for Local Bodies polls likely on April 20
Hyderabad, April 18 (Maxim News): Schedule for polls of Local Bodies was finalized and slated to be held in three phases. While the schedule will be released on April 20, related notification will be issued on April 22 according to the information.
ZPTCs and MPTCs elections are going to be held in 32 districts and the officials are gearing up for the same. In the first phase, out of 539 ZPTCs and 5817 MPTCs in the State, 212 ZPTCs and 2,365 MPTCs will go to polls in the first phase. For second phase, election notification is to be out on April 26 and the polls will be held for 199 ZPTCs, 2109 MPTCs on May 10, it is said. Similarly for third phase of polls will be held for 124 ZPTCs and 1343 MPTCs on May 14.
The State Election Commission has made arrangements in polling stations based on number of voters. While there are 6,540 polling stations for 400 voters each, 25,487 polling stations will be set up for 600 voters each. Accordingly, the election body appointed 64,014 presiding and assistant presiding officers for 32,007 polling stations. Similarly, the election body has appointed a total of 1,47141 polling staff for the polls. Of which, 1,21,488 officials will be on poll duty, including three polling staff for each polling station with 400 voters and four polling staff for each polling station with 600 voters. The officials also set up 13,651 locations, 510 distribution centers, 129 counting centers and strong rooms for the purpose.
According to the information, districts will go for the polls are Medchal and Malkajgiri in the first phase. In second phase, Jagitial, Karimnagar, Peddapally, Rajanna-Sircilla, Jogulamba-Gadwal, Mahbubnagar, Narayanpet, Ranga Reddy, Vikarabad, Warangal Urban will go to polls. In third phase, Adialbad, Kumram Bhim Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nagar Kurnool, Wanaparty, Medak, Sanga Reddy, Siddipet, Kamareddy, Nizamabad, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Yadadri-Bhongir, Jangaon, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mahabubabad, Warangal Rural and Mulugu Districts will witness elections.
