Schools in Andhra Pradesh to Reopen From Aug 16
Amaravati: All schools in Andhra Pradesh will reopen on August 16. Making this announcement during ‘Nadu-Nedu’ programme review meeting here on Friday, Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy said the first phase ‘Nadu-Nedu’ works would also be dedicated to the people on the same day.
“There should be no scope for corruption in ‘Nadu-Nedu’ works which were taken up by us for the sake of children with a good cause. No government in the past thought of schools’ development. There should not be any controversy in ‘Nadu-Nedu’ works,” he told officials.
Jagan also said that the second phase of the programme would also be launched on the day the schools reopened and the government would also provide comprehensive details of the new education policy on the occasion.
Education minister Adimoolapu Suresh said the day of reopening of schools on August 16 would be celebrated like a festival by conducting several programmes. Over 15,000 schools were renovated in the first phase of ‘Nadu-Nedu’ and works in 16,000 more schools would be undertaken in the second phase on August 16, he said, adding that the Vidya Kanuka kits would also be distributed on the occasion.
