Hyderabad, Oct.24 (Maxim News): The metro rail corridor from Tarnaka to Nagole in Hyderabad will be declared as Science Corridor in view of India International Science Festival (IISF) to be held in Kolkata from November 5. Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics Director Dr Debasish Mitra and IICT principle Scientist Ramanuj Narayan, who is also a representative of the IISF informed this at a press conference today. Dr Mitra said lot of science activities are being organized in the institute in view of the IISF.
Dr Mitra said the DNA fingerprinting and Genome analysis is being done based on next generation technology at the Institute and it has bring down the costs and time incurring for genetic diagnostics.
Dr Ramanuj explained how students are being encouraged to take part in IISF related activities.
Besides, the CSIR premium Institutes are sponsoring students to take part in Kolkata IISF. Meanwhile, Eminent Scientist and CSIR Former Director General Prof Samir Brahmachary delivered a science lecture on ‘Future of Medicine in the post Genomics, Big Data and AI Era’ on the occasion.(Maxim News)
