Speaking on this occasion, the Minister said, “We are celebrating International Women’s Day with the aim of ensuring equal opportunities and equal wages for women in all fields. The reason for the emergence of Women’s Day was to ensure that women’s hard work was rewarded. From the underground to the space sector, women should get opportunities in all fields. It is a real Women’s Day only when women’s hard work is rewarded. No matter how high women have risen, discrimination continues. Women MLAs, Ministers, and IAS officers continue to face gender inequality. Once, agriculture and industry were the only avenues of employment for women. But now, women are excelling in many fields.  Despite this, women are not looked down upon in society. The progress and position of women in every field should be reviewed. We should review the extent to which we can achieve the goals set by the United Nations regarding gender equality

Women should get equality and equal opportunities: Seethakka

Women should get equality and equal opportunities. Equality in society is the only way to bridge gender gaps. Women have many physical disadvantages. Women are overcoming all of them and are making progress. “Policies should be formulated keeping in mind the disadvantages of women, said Minister Seethakka.

The Praja government has started efforts in the first place. We are forming a committee to formulate the best policy in favor of women. If all the experienced people give their suggestions and recommendations, we will formulate a new policy accordingly. The role of women’s associations is significant in achieving gender equality. Women’s associations are providing financial protection as well as social security to women. We have provided interest-free loans to women beyond the planned targets this year. If we set a target of providing loans of Rs. 20 thousand crores, we have provided loan facilities of up to Rs. 22 thousand crores. Women should stand on their own feet and become a strong force in all fields, including the political field. Women should grow so that states can govern themselves. Women are the real economists. There are many economists in books. But in practice, women are the highest economists in family management. With the encouragement provided by the government, many are achieving unprecedented success. Society progresses only with the development of women. We will work to move up two steps in the social, political, and economic fields by the next Women’s Day,” said Minister Seethakka.
