Seethakka Stressed Need To Pass Culture Of Bathukumma To Coming Generation

Hyderabad, Oct 5 (Maxim News): Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Seethakka felt that there is a need to pass on the culture of Bathukamma, a rare festival of worshiping nature, to the generations to come.

She was the chief guest at the Bathukamma festival organized by the employee unions in OU and performed Bathukamma with the women employees. Sitakka said that the current society has traveled a long way beyond the natural environment and conditions… She reminded the Telangana society of hundreds of years of connection to the Bathukamma flower festival. She reminded us that Telangana is a wonderful society that worships flowers, trees, grass, and water. She said that the water is purified by worshiping flowers with natural medicinal properties and immersing them in the ponds… Like this, there is science behind every tradition in Telangana. Seethakka congratulated the OU women employees. 

OSD Professor Redyanaik and UGC Dean Prof. G. Mallesham congratulated the women employees participating in the Bathukamma Utsavam organized by the OU Unions every year. On this occasion, the president of the OU NGO Association, Jnaneshwar appealed to Minister Sitakka to take the initiative to solve the problems of the employees. Faculty of Law Dean Vijayalakshmi, Professor Lavanya, union leaders Nagaraju, Sivashankar, Akbar Baig, Vijay Kumar, Rakesh, Avinash, Praneeta, Haimavathi, Swathi Reddy, Sudha, Sahasini, Lakshmi, Aparna, Sunita, Renuka, Bhulakshmi and others participated in this program. Women professors, teaching, and non-teaching staff participated and played Bathukamma. (Maxim News)
