The Maoist top leaders stated in the letter that the party has been weakened by the surrender of Mallojula, Asanna and the Hidma encounter. It was explained that this decision was taken on the request of the Center for the rest to surrender. It is known that the Maoists recently requested some time for them to merge into the mainstream of life.

The Naxal spokesperson also said that an open frequency number has been released for mutual coordination and communication. They made it clear that they will lay down their arms in front of the government, which gives them the highest priority. MMC Zone spokesperson Anant said that laying down arms does not mean betraying the people. Meanwhile, it is known that the central government has launched Operation Akarsh to curb the actions of the Maoists. It is forcing many leaders to surrender. Those who do not surrender are being eliminated in the name of encounters.

In this context, the central forces are stopping the Maoists from everywhere. It is known that a major encounter took place recently in Maredumilli in AP. It is known that Maoist top leader Hidma and many key leaders were killed in this encounter. In this context, the Maoists are in a situation where they cannot breathe. There is a campaign going on that Maoist top leader Dev Ji is also in police custody. It is reported that the Maoist party has taken this decision to lay down arms.

In a letter sent to the Chief Ministers of these three states by the Communist Party of India (Maoist) on behalf of the Maharashtra-Madhya Pradesh-Chhattisgarh Special Zonal Committee (MMC), they have announced that they are ready for peace talks if the government calls for it. The Maoists have decided to implement a one-month Hatyabandh (killing stop) and ceasefire from January 1, 2026. They have stated that they are ready to talk if the government comes forward for talks during this break.

They said that the Chief Ministers of Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh should come forward for talks, which would help resolve the problems in the forest areas. The MMC said that although they had previously announced a ceasefire in 2022, the then governments did not respond. They wanted the governments to come forward for real talks instead of repeating that mistake this time. The committee demanded that open debates and discussions be held with the governments on issues like tribal land rights, police attacks and lack of development. Alleging that innocent people are dying in the name of encounters, the Maoists said that peace talks will be meaningful only if these incidents stop.

They asked the Chief Ministers of the three states to officially announce when and where the talks will be held. A phone number was released as an open line for communication between 11 am and 11.15 am every day from December 1 to January 1, 2026. The Maoists asked everyone to respect this decision and that no attacks or counter-attacks should take place during the ceasefire. (Maxim News)
