Former Vice President of India Venkaiah Naidu said that true happiness lies in serving the motherland and remembering one’s roots. He shared these views while attending a mega medical camp in Gudivada. He said he has been fond of Gudivada since the days of the Jai Andhra movement. He also recalled visiting the town often during the student movement. He praised the organisers for conducting a free medical camp without forgetting their motherland and birthplace.
Venkaiah Naidu visited Gudivada on Thursday. The North American Telugu Association organised the mega medical camp at IMA Hall. Venkaiah Naidu inaugurated the camp by lighting the lamp. College NCC students gave him a grand welcome with a Guard of Honor. Organisers also unveiled the college Vajrotsava pylon during the programme. MLAs Venigandla Ramu and Dr Kamineni Srinivas attended the event. Elders from NATS and IMA were also present.
Speaking on the occasion, Venkaiah Naidu spoke about his childhood lifestyle. He stressed the importance of staying connected to one’s origins. He said, “No person should forget their roots.” He also said, “The joy of serving one’s mother and motherland is different from going abroad to earn money.” He urged people to value service over personal gain and remember the place where they were born and raised.
Meanwhile, Venkaiah Naidu raised concerns over rising health issues. He said many new diseases are emerging due to lifestyle changes and altered food habits. He pointed out that the balance of nature is disappearing.
Therefore, he said people must pay more attention to their health. He added that doctors have a key role in society. He said doctors should educate the public about precautions to prevent diseases. He also said doctors should provide service oriented medicine.
Later, he spoke about the impact of modern habits. He said balance is being disrupted due to smartphones, electrical appliances, and junk food. He advised people to make the best use of what nature has given. He also spoke directly to young people.
He said, “Today’s youth should move forward while preserving the family system.” Through these remarks, Venkaiah Naidu underlined that serving the motherland, protecting health, and respecting family values together lead to true happiness.
