Shabbir Ali demands white paper on development in GHMC area

Hyderabad, Feb 5 (Maxim News): Demanding white paper on promises fulfilled made to the people of greater Hyderabad, Leader of Opposition in Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir on Sunday said that TRS government was busy in drawing a rosy picture of development with false promises.

He said that most of the promises made in the GHMC election manifesto, were not fulfilled even after it occupied GHMC council for one year now.

He said, “Exactly on this day ago TRS party took the office of GHMC council with a thumping majority of 99 out of 150 wards. People voted TRS with such a mandate only seeing its election manifesto.”

We are demanding the state government to give details of the promises fulfilled and projects announced for the city Hyderabad and GHMC area.

He alleged that people of greater Hyderabad were hoodwinked in the name of Double Bedroom Houses for poor and said that Municipal Administration Minister KTR was not available for people rather touring foreign countries.

Nearly 1.08 lakh houses were sanctioned in GHMC area and it require thousands of crore to be completed; how the government is going to meet this expenditure, he asked.

TRS government has constructed only 369 2BHK houses in city at IDH colony and fooling people in the name of houses showing the same, he alleged.

What are the programs, schemes and projects that were completed meant for the GHMC area, he questioned. He sought to know as to why the road repair works were not started so far instead of October last year.

“I ask the state government to show any park that is developed, market yard, lakes restored and flyover constructed. Instead, TRS is responsible for delaying the Metro Rail Project by dilly-dallying stands on it”, he stated.

Stating that most of the infrastructure visible in Hyderabad and GHMC area was actually developed by the previous Congress government, he said that International Airport, Outer Ring Road, Flyovers, Metro Rail, formation of GHMC and Drinking Water projects were actually started during his party’s rule.

‘We have took up the developmental activities in greater Hyderabad by spending Rs 1 lakh crore and made it a Global city in real meanings’, he said.

He said, “Government has no clarity on what it was doing and it must show the actual plan with proper figures whatever it was announcing to do. Where are the skyways, where are flyovers and where are the roads.”

Speaking on this issue former minister Danam Nagendar said that Hyderabad was made Global City back in 2007 itself when World Bank has rated it as the best city to start business and investment.
He said that KTR was lying to people by saying that Telangana was getting lakhs of crores in the form of investments from foreign companies instead only Rs 2,400 crore investments were received so far.

He said that all the major infrastructure works in city were done during the Congress government. (Maxim News)
