Shabbir slams TRS activists’ attack on Komatireddy
Hyderabad: Condemning the TRS activists’ attack on CLP deputy leader Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Leader of Opposition in the Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir today said obstructing the local MLA from participating in the program being held in his own constituency, was against democratic norms. He demanded that the State government withdraw cases filed against Komatireddy Venkat Reddy unconditionally and tender apology.
Speaking to the media here on Wednesday, Shabbir Ali alleged the TRS leaders were behaving like dictators with the help of police and officials. It was not proper to the TRS leaders to brand Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, who was a senior leader and tendered resignation to Minister post for the sake of Telangana State, as a rowdy and goonda, he said and alleged that the TRS leadership was giving ministership and nominated posts to the Telangana betrayers; but the same leadership was insulting the real Telanganaites.
He said the TRS leaders calling every critic as a rowdy and goonda shows they suffer from narrow mentality. He said the TRS was habituated to organize meetings with public money and murdering democracy by filing non-bailable cases against the Khammam mirchi farmers and resorting to attacks on Save Dharna Chowk Parirakshana Committee activists and attacks on Opposition parties’ MLAs. The State was seemingly experiencing the TRS Party’s private army’s rule, he alleged and said that the police showed clear discrimination by filing cases only against Congress MLA and Congress party activists leaving the ruling party activists, who were resorted to stone pelting in Nalgonda incident.
He demanded the state government to initiate severe action against the TRS activists who resorted to attack on Congress party activists and vehicles. “These sorts of incidents would bring bad name to the police department”, he said. He alleged that the TRS leaders hatched a conspiracy to see that Komatireddy, who strived for the establishment of Batthai Market Yard in Nalgonda, not to get good name to local MLA and hence they didn’t allow him to the spot where the incident took place.
The ruling party leaders also went against the tradition of giving chance to the local MLA to preside over the function, he pointed out and said that it was atrocious on the part of the ruling party to not to allow the opposition parties public representatives to participate in the official programs across the state. He warned that the Ministers have to leave this attitude or else they have to face the repercussions from now on wards.
