Sharmila To Stage Rally At Delhi Demanding Inquiry On Corruption Into Construction Of Kaleshwaram Project On March 14

Hyderabad, March 13 (Maxim news):  YSR Telangana Party President Y. S. Sharmila has demanded the Central government to investigate the corruption in the construction of Kaleshwaram project.  He alleged that the construction of Kaleshwaram project is a bigger scam than 2G spectrum and coal scam.

Sharmila informed that the YSR Telangana Party has decided to take out a rally from Jantar Mantar in Delhi to the Parliament on the morning of march 14, demanding an inquiry into construction of Kaleshwaram project.

Sharmila said that Y.s Rajasekhar Reddy had designed the Ambedkar Pranahita Chevella project at a cost of Rs. 38.500 crores, through which it was planned to provide water to 16.40 lakh acres.  It is alleged that after Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao came to power, Rs. 1.20 lakh crore was spent on the project in the name of redesigning, to provide water to only 18,25,700  acres. The construction of  Kaleshwaram is an utter flop project.

She alleged that the Kaleshwaram project was constructed only for commissions.  It is an unnecessary project.  She alleged that KCR, who is in the position of Chief Minister, is telling blatant lies about the construction of the project.  She expressed concern that the cost of the project has been tripled in the name of redesigning.  “Is there no corruption in the Kaleshwaram project? Do you want the investigation not to take place? At Least there is quality, she asked.

Sharmila commented that no matter how big a flood occured in Godavari river in the past, the local farmers did not have any problems and due to the construction of Kaleswaram project, farmers crops are threatened with back water.  Has compensation been paid to any farmer who lost due to back water? she asked. What is the purpose of giving 80 percent of the projects undertaken in the state to only one contractor, why is the opposition not questioning this? Has KCR fulfilled any of his promises, she questioned.

Sharmila made it clear that she is fighting for the people of the state.  Sharmila asked the Telangana MPs to support the rally they headed on March 14.  On the other hand, how ministers, MLAs, BRS leaders and activists are supporting MLC Kavitha, who is accused in the Delhi Liquor scam, was questioned.  She said that under the rule of KCR, the opposition has no chance to raise its voice.  She said that the state government is not allowed to do padayatra, she alleged that they are causing a lot of trouble by not doing the padayatra.  (Maxim News)
