Hyderabad,Dec 21(Maxim News): Principal Secretary Industries and Commerce Mr Arvind Kumar today held a high level meeting and reviewed the status of shifting and relocation of polluting industries from inside outer ring road to outside the outer ring road.
He said that the government is determined to shift and relocate all the polluting industries existing inside the outer ring road to outside by the end of next year . He said that those units which are willing to shift and relocate outside the outer ring road on their own duly complying with the environmental norms should be suitably incentivized.
He said that out of the total 1545 industries indicated by the pollution control board, 385 are already existing outside the outer ring road. The remaining 1160 industries are proposed to be shifted to the Hyderabad Pharma City.
TSIIC has identified certain locations outside the outer ring road within a distance of 100 kms to make twin cities free from industrial pollution. He asked the EPTRI officials which has been entrusted the work related to submission of feasibility study as per the guidelines to submit their report at the earliest.
The meeting also deliberated about the measures to be taken at the new identified locations, classification of the industries in terms of location and also about grouping them in to sector specific clusters. Later Mr Kumar also reviewed the Cooperative Industrial Estate Balanagar issue with the concerned officials.
GHMC Commissioner Janardhan Reddy, HMDA Commissioner Chiranjeevulu, EPTRI Director General Kalyan Chakravarthy, Medchal Collector M V Reddy, TSIIC Vice Chairman and Managing Director Narasimha Reddy, Additional Director Industries Mr Devananad and other officials were present on the occasion.(Maxim News)
