Shock To Kejriwal: No Exemptions From Arrest: Delhi High Court

Delhi/Hyderabad, March 21 (Maxim News): Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has suffered a setback in the money laundering case related to the Delhi Liquor Scam Case.  The Delhi High Court refused to exempt him from arrest in this case.  It has concluded that they cannot interfere in the case at present in view of the progress of the case.

It is known that ED has issued summons to Kejriwal nine times in this case.  While he was supposed to appear on Thursday (March 21) for the last notices, he did not go.  The Delhi CM recently approached the High Court challenging the summons issued to him.  The court that investigated this asked why he was not attending the hearing.

In this connection, Kejriwal filed another petition today.  He requested the High Court to restrain the ED from taking serious action against him.  Hearing the arguments of both sides, the bench refused to exempt kejriwal from arrest.  Kejriwal sought clarification from the ED on the request.  Later, the trial was adjourned.  It has been said that it will be heard on April 22 along with the main petition challenging the summons.

CBI has already interrogated kejriwal in the liquor scam case. He was questioned for 9 hours in April last year.  In the latest case registered by ED, consecutive summons are being received.  In the same case, former Deputy CM of Delhi Manish Sisodia and AAP MP Sanjay Singh have been arrested and are in jail.  (Maxim News)
